'I made the very hard decision to sell my cafe so I could travel and compete [in Ninja Warrior] without distraction, and as much as I miss my customers and everyday routine hustle, I'm content with my decision to follow a new path,' she said.

For martial arts pro Josh O'Sullivan, he increased his training regime with very little rest.

'Towards the Ninja season I was training two to three times a day, up to four hours a day, five to six days a week,' the 26-year-old said.

And for Brisbane-based plumber Ryan Solomon, it was his sleep and sanity that was affected the most.

'Sacrifice my sleep and sanity a little bit trying to make sure I've trained every last bit that I've got, but there's a bit that goes into it,' the 31-year-old said.

Meanwhile, it's a busy time for Ryan who is expecting a miracle baby in August with wife Amie Solomon.
