'So many people drowned!' Survivor Australia star Sarah Ayles panicked during her last challenge as it brought back horrifying memories from the Boxing Day Tsunami in Sri Lanka
Survivor Australia star Sarah Ayles put up a brave fight during her last challenge in Fiji, which saw her compete in a simulated drowning experience.
But now, the cleaner has revealed the immense fear that was overtaking her body as it became difficult to breathe in the challenge.
Speaking to Ten Daily on Tuesday, Sarah said the challenge hit her harder than most after she survived the infamous Boxing Day Tsunami in 2004.

'That challenge hit me harder than the Tower of Terror,' Sarah said, referring to her earlier trouble with one of the series challenges.
She said the challenge brought back memories, and became an emotional wreck in her head as she attempted to stay calm.
'Apart from trying to breathe and not panic, I was actually aware of the fact that this is how people had died [in Sri Lanka in 2004],' Sarah said.

Sri Lanka was one of the countries struck by a tsunami resulting from the Indian Ocean earthquake on December 26, 2004.
The following January Sri Lankan authorities said the death toll had risen past 30,000 people, as well as 500,000 people displaced from their homes.
Clearly being affected by the horrific experience, she said that she realised how helpless people would have been drowning.
"At some point, people just have to take that breath of water in,' Sarah said of the challenge, which simulated a person being slowly drowned
'I survived, but so many other people drowned, and by putting myself in that box, I was in a bit of a simulated situation where you hold your breath - but at some point, people just have to take that breath of water in,' she said.
On Tuesday night's episode of Survivor, it was the end of the line for Sarah who was sent home packing from the Champions team.

Despite her heroic effort in the challenge which saw her come second, a tense tribal council saw her voted off.
While she was blindsided by the move to eliminate her, Sarah was gracious as she left: 'Good luck everybody, have fun.'
