He has long been pushing for the legalisation of medical marijuana in Australia.
And on Monday, My Kitchen Rules star Pete Evans has admitted that he would 'much prefer' his daughters Chilli, 14, and Indii, 13, to use cannabis than consume alcohol when they come of age.
The 46-year-old celebrity chef - who backs the controversial Paleo diet - made the admission when answering a fan question on Instagram.

Candid: The 46-year-old celebrity chef - who backs the controversial Paleo diet - made the admission when answering a fan question on Instagram
Pete had shared a sweet black and white snap of himself with daughter Chilli as they went surfing in Sydney, when a fan commented underneath asking how he would feel if his daughters 'smoked weed.'
'I really admire who are and what you stand for and we share the same belief system about food being medicine and the use of medicinal cannabis,' the fan commented.
They added: 'Where I struggle is being a parent and my question to you is how do or would you deal with your girls and drug use, albeit smoking weed given your views on cannabis use?'

Pete replied, saying his daughters are aware of his views and that he would prefer them to use cannabis rather than consume alcohol when they are older.
'They are fully aware of what I do and stand for,' Pete said.
'They know I have taken many different forms of medicines and drugs in the past. We have open and honest discussions about it so they are educated on the topic.'
He added: 'Nothing is off the table for discussion. I would much prefer them when they are of an age to have cannabis over alcohol 1000 per cent.'
It comes after he continued his public support of medicinal cannabis, after his comprehensive report as a guest reporter on Sunday Night.

Taking to Instagram on Monday, Pete shared a fan's comment that he hailed as 'the most common sense comment he had read all day'.
The celebrity chef, who is producing a documentary called The Magic Plant, has received an outpouring of support since his Sunday special.
Pete's supporter asserted that 'cannabis is a miracle plant' and used an analogy of a 'beautiful plant in their garden that has poisonous berries'.
'Should that be banned just in case someone eats them (the berries)? Or do we act responsibly and educate our children that berries are poisonous?' the supporter wrote.
'I'm sure that cannabis is a lot safer than that (poisonous) plant. Yet one is legal to grow, the other isn't. The rules are not consistent.'
Making headlines: But not everyone is happy about 'Paleo' Pete becoming the face of the movement
Pete's fan wrote that 'Australia is way behind on medicinal cannabis' and hailed the MKR judge as 'someone who is trying to change that'.
The celebrity chef captioned the post: 'The most common sense comment I have read today. Thank you for sharing.'
But not everyone is happy about 'Paleo' Pete becoming the face of the movement.
Some medicinal cannabis advocates have expressed concerns about his health tips and diet plans, which have been the subject of immense scrutiny and controversy.
Pete has been very open for his love of medical cannabis and CBD, even producing his own cannabis oil during a trip to Florida, where medical marijuana is legal, for a scene in his new documentary.
