'This serves as a warning to all TV producers who don't give good lighting!' Kerri-Anne Kennerley jokes about Roberta Williams' legal woes after gangland widow was arrested on kidnap charges

Studio 10 panellist, Kerrie-Anne Kennerley, 65, is no stranger to controversy.

And on Thursday, the veteran TV presenter joked about gangland widow, Roberta Williams', ongoing legal woes.

On Wednesday, Roberta, 50, was arrested in Melbourne as part of an investigation into kidnapping allegations, before being granted bail.

The ex-wife of slain underworld killer, Carl Williams, was charged with threatening to kill a TV producer and Kerrie-Anne joked that the case should serve as a warning to other producers.

'Well I have been keeping up with this,' the TV host said on Studio 10.

'...I have to say what she did to this producer - ties them up, kidnaps them you know pistol whips them – allegedly – I just think this serves as a warning to all television producers who don't give good lighting!'

Kerrie-Anne's comments drew laughter from fellow panellists Sarah Harris, Joe Hildebrand, Denise Drysdale and Angela Bishop as the lighting was dimmed in jest.

However, the legal drama is no laughing matter for Roberta, who has been charged with carious offences including false imprisonment, making threats to kill and causing serious injury.

Roberta and three men are accused of beating and tying up a Ryan Naumenko, a producer on her upcoming reality TV show, in Collingwood last month.

She was granted bail on Thursday with a $10,000 surety.

Roberta and her 18-year-old daughter Dhakota, recently launched a Go Fund Me page to raise $50,000 for their reality show.

Dhakota is the only child of late gangland killer Carl.
