He’s made a name for himself in both dramatic roles and action-packed films, and now he’s set to star as the bad guy in one of summer’s most anticipated blockbusters.
Idris Elba was seen on Monday in New York City, where he made an appearance in support of his latest film, Fast & Furious Presents: Hobbs & Shaw.
The ruggedly handsome Brit, 46, looked casual in a white t-shirt, paired with fashionable-looking camouflage patterned slacks and grey suede sneakers.

The Thor actor was on hand to host the screening, which took place at Regal Cinema in New York.
Hobbs & Shaw, which is regarded as a spinoff to the incredibly popular Fast & Furious franchise, pairs stars Jason Statham and Dwayne Johnson against Elba’s villainous character, who at one point in the trailer refers to himself as ‘the black Superman.’
Fast & Furious has thusfar spawned eight installments, with a ninth one on the way in 2020.
Earlier on Monday, Elba was seen on his way to the screening, where he opted for Lacoste slip-on sandals in lieu of the sneakers.

Elba, who at one point was rumored to be in the running to be the next James Bond, has enjoyed roles in hits such as Pacific Rim and Star Trek Beyond, along with smaller films like Beasts Of No Nation.
The 6ft2in actor has several projects in the works, including the film adaptation for the Broadway musical Cats, whose trailer took the internet by storm last week.
The Marvel Cinematic Universe alum is also set to jump party lines and join the DC Extended Universe, as he is attached to 2021’s Suicide Squad reboot with Margot Robbie.
