Euphoria star Jacob Elordi has revealed he was dangerously close to running out of money when he landed the role of Nate Jacobs in the HBO drama, as he graced the cover of British GQ's September issue.
The actor admitted the series was his 'last audition,' and he had just '$400 or $800' left in his account when he tried out for the role.
Jacob also revealed that when he first moved to LA in 2017 he stayed on his friend's in the San Fernando Valley for a couple of weeks to save money, and would even sleep in his car while parked on Mulholland Drive.

Discussing his financial struggles before landing his breakout role in Euphoria, Jacob said: 'I wasn't booking jobs, I think I had – I don't know, $400 or $800 left in my bank account – and Euphoria was my last audition before I went home for a little while to make some money and recuperate.'
The TV starm who grew up in Australia, added that he became fixated on acting from the age 12, but continued to play in his school's rugby time, and over time he began to realise the stark contrast between the two.
He continued: 'From the moment I did a play I was called gay at school. But I had this abundance of confidence in myself because I could do both: I was quite good at sport and I think I was quite good at theatre.

'I felt like I was above it, or it made me feel older. It made me feel wiser. I was never worried that my peers would think I was less than a man.
'And also, I was doing plays with girls' schools. I'm spending my weekends with the most beautiful women from the school next door, reading the most romantic words ever written.'
Jacob said he first began to realise that he could blur the gender lines when he landed the role of Oberon in a school production of Midsommar Night's Dream.
He said: 'When they said I was gay, I remember leaning in to the makeup. I was like, if I'm going to be the King of the Fairies, then I'm going to be the f***ing hottest King of the Fairies you've ever seen.
'I enjoyed playing the actor. I stepped away from beer culture and from sport culture, and I was like, well, if you think this is gay, I'm going to be who I am when I was your friend, which is this hetero guy, but I'm going to play the arts.

'I'm going to do it, and I'm going to show you that's bullsh*t. I could never understand – how could you label anything, ever?
'How could you label sport as masculine? How does your sexuality inform your prowess as an athlete, or your prowess as a performer?'
Jacob, who has starred in Euphoria since its first series in 2019, went onto admit that he fears the demands of fame will dull the sensations he draws on as an actor.

'The fear [is that] going on a walk in Byron Bay, at my home, maybe one day that won’t hold the same value to me, because I’ve sanded down all my edges,' he said.
'I have no taste anymore. I have no taste for life. I only know this one way of being, which is smile, and wave, and being graceful all the time, and not feeling anything, and always being the graceful one in a situation, and always knowing what the right thing to do is, and always knowing how to handle myself.'
In Euphoria, Jacob plays Nate Jacobs, a high school athlete who struggles to control his anger issues, which mask his sexual insecurities.
It comes after Jacob was linked romantically to YouTube star Olivia Jade, 22.
They sparked dating rumours in December 2021 when they were seen getting coffee together and Olivia last month was spotted leaving Jacob's house in a sweatshirt and socks.
