A rare 2017 Ferrari LaFerrari engine with just 20 miles (32 km) on it is currently up for sale on eBay for $800,000.
An eBay seller with a frankly horrific 75 per cent positive feedback rating is selling the prized Italian powertrain for the second time.
Back in early 2018, this same engine was listed on eBay with a $325,000 ‘Buy It Now’ price but seemingly failed to sell. It is now up for sale once again but now with an asking price not far off $1 million.

The listing only provides three images of the engine and says it has just 20 miles on the clock. There’s absolutely no mention of how the seller came into the possession of the engine but we know of a handful of LaFerraris which have been crashed in recent years so it’s possible it has come from one of them.
The listing makes no mention of whether or not the engine is being sold with a wiring harness and if it isn’t, actually using it could prove to be exceptionally difficult.
As for the asking price, well it is absolutely absurd, as you will probably agree. While there’s no denying that the LaFerrari’s 6.3-liter V12 engine is special, it’s not significantly different than the engine of the Ferrari F12 Berlinetta.
If the entire powertrain of a LaFerrari, including the KERS system, battery pack, and transmission was being sold alongside the V12, then the asking price would be somewhat easier to justify.
