Each episode will be an hour long and will follow Cohen as he goes undercover in 1960s Syria, successfully gaining intelligence on Syria's anti-Israel secret initiatives through his close relationships with military leaders and their wealthy friends.
Baron Cohen's Eli Cohen is described as a man who wants nothing more than to be of service to his country, but he does his job so well that he finds it hard to strip off his double identity.
In one image Baron Cohen is seen in a beige linen suit as he makes his way through a bustling street in Syria. In another photo he dons a cream tux to schmooze with important guests at a party.
A third image shows the actor looking dispirited while sitting with his luggage next to a newsstand.
The series is written and directed by Gideon Raff, the creator of Israeli drama Prisoners of War on which Showtime’s Homeland was based.
