Lancia Stratos Stradale Still Looks As Sharp And Special As Ever

Share it:

The Lancia Stratos is definitely one of the biggest Group B icons ever existed, and with only 492 cars ever built for the road, the opportunity of actually getting one is quite rare.

Girardo & Co. is now offering a late 1977 model that was originally delivered in Austria before moving to the 666UK in 2001. It retains the original spec, which translates to a Rosso Stratos finish and Havana seats, as well as a numbers-matching engine.

The sharp bodywork was penned by Marcello Gandini as the world’s first road car to be designed as a racer first and foremost, with the street-legal version manufactured only to satisfy FIA’s homologation regs.

Power comes from a Ferrari Dino-sourced 2.4-liter V6, which in the Stradale models makes 200 HP and is paired to a five-speed manual transmission. Meanwhile, the 300 HP race version went on to win three consecutive World Rally championships and 18 wins during its illustrious career.

The car offered for sale here received a very expensive and thorough inspection and maintenance work in 2014, the same year it also was repainted to its original Rosso Stratos finish. Further mechanical work was performed in 2017.

This rather gorgeous Stratos HF is currently registered in the UK and is offered for sale from Girardo, though the price is available upon application.
