'She is a freak. Let's call a spade a spade': Comedian Fiona O'Loughlin slams Bindi Irwin and the rest of her family in extraordinary rant

In 2010 comedian Fiona O'Loughlin called Bindi Irwin, 21, a 'freak', while appearing on the TV music quiz show Spicks and Specks.

And Fiona was it it again on The Little Dum Dum Club podcast on Friday - not only taking aim at Bindi, but at the rest of the Irwin family including mum Terri, 55, and son Robert, 15.

'I said she [Bindi] was a freak. She is!' said Fiona, 56.

She continued: 'Yeah I said she was a freak. I was talking about that family. You know, it's weird. Let's call a spade a spade. Steve Irwin had Asperger's. You don't run around the world talking like that without being bonkers. "Fun" bonkers, but bonkers.

'[Mum and widow] Terri actually thinks she is in a cartoon, because of the outfits.'

Fiona, who won the fourth season of I'm a Celebrity … Get Me Out Of Here! last year, went on to say that the Irwin children had never had guests to their home before their dad Steve's death.

She said: 'You know when somebody dies, people come to your front door with casseroles, right? Or well-wishes or whatever.

'And Terri said how freaked out the kids were because they'd never had company before. They'd never had anyone over to the house. Weird! So I stand by that statement [weird].'

Steve Irwin died after being attacked by stingray in September, 2006, aged 44.

Fiona came under fire in 2010 for insulting Bindi on the now defunct ABC quiz show Spicks and Specks.

She was a panellist on the show with one of Bindi's former 'crocmen' when she called the then-11-year-old girl 'a bit creepy' and a 'freakshow'.

The comedian defended herself at the time, dismissing her comment as just a bit of light-hearted banter.

'It was part of some banter on a comedy panel show. I'm a comedian and comedians make fun of people we know. I've said worse about myself,' she said.

Daily Mail Australia has reached out to the Irwins for comment.

She said: 'You know when somebody dies, people come to your front door with casseroles, right? Or well-wishes or whatever. And Terri said how freaked out the kids were because they'd never had company before. They'd never had anyone over to the house. Weird!'
