Bachelor Matt Agnew controversially kept Monique Morley on the show after being told she called him a 'dog c**t' in Wednesday's explosive episode.

After ending the rose ceremony by saying 'I hope I don't live to regret this decision', a trailer for Thursday night's cocktail party doesn't look good for the astrophysicist.

As tensions continue to rise between Monique and Abbie Chatfield, the 32-year-old  Matt is set to intervene at the cocktail party to send one woman home.

'I don't like mean girls and that's what she [Abbie] is. Sorry darl, one of us has to leave,' Monique is heard telling producers as the pair remain frosty towards each other at the mansion.

'It's hard, because she's a woman I could see a future with. This is breaking my heart at the moment,' Matt bemoaned as the drama appears to reach a fever pitch.

In a shock moment, Matt addresses the group to say: 'I think it's for the best if you leave the mansion.'

It's unclear who he boots from the show before the rose ceremony.

Monique was taken aback when she received a rose from Matt over teacher Julia Hyde despite being embroiled in the scandal.

He initially stormed off the set of the reality series after Abbie told him Monique had called him a 'dog c**t' and a 'disrespectful pig'.

Matt pulled Monique aside to confront her over the rumoured remarks, to which she denied ever uttering.

After the two bachelorettes went back and forth over the comments, Matt pulled Rachael Arahill aside to verify what had happened.

'When I was by the pool, she was joking,' Rachael explained. 'Monique wasn't saying it like... Well, I don't even know. She said it as a joke.'

Rachael saying that the comments were just a 'joke' only confused Matt more, and the astrophysicist started to become increasingly frustrated as different girls gave him different versions of what had actually happened.

Eventually, the 31-year-old snapped and addressed the women as an entire group.

'Tonight's been a tremendous waste of time,' Matt said, clearly frustrated by the drama.

The Bachelor airs Wednesday and Thursday nights from 7.30pm on Channel 10
