Fifteen-time Grammy Award winner Alicia Keys and her music producer and DJ husband Swizz Beatz are putting plans in place to create a new performing arts center in upstate New York, the Associated Press reports.
The couple wants to transform an industrial site in rural Macedon, which is just south of Lake Ontario and not far from Rochester, into a state of the art, multi-building performing arts campus for new musicians and artists.

The initiative was introduced at a town board meeting on Thursday.
Linda Shaw, an attorney for Keys and her husband, stipulated that the project will re-purpose three presently vacant buildings.
A local paper, the Democrat & Chronicle, reports that specific plans will call to re-purpose the 111-acre property's main building into a classroom and office building, to revamp a barn by turning it into an art exhibition space, and to create a performing arts center, training area and large gym in a structure that was previously utilized as an industrial facility by Exxon Mobil.
According to the paper, town engineer Scott Allen called it 'an exciting proposal,' saying that they are looking forward to learning more.
