Porsche teased the interior of the 2020 Taycan earlier this week and now they’ve revealed it in its entirety.
Essentially a high-tech tour de force, the cabin is dominated by four different screens including a digital instrument cluster, an infotainment system and a lower display for climate settings. That’s not too unusual, as Audi uses a similar setup, but the big news here is an optional display for the front seat passenger. Porsche didn’t say much about it, but stated the screen will enable the front seat passenger to “easily alter settings without distracting the driver.”
Getting back to the other screens, the digital instrument cluster is a free-standing 16.8-inch display which is curved and features minimalist bezels. Since it lacks a cowl, the display uses real glass and a “vapor-deposited, polarizing filter” which gives it anti-reflective properties.
The instrument cluster is adjustable and features four different modes – Classic, Map, Full Map and Pure. Classic mode resembles a traditional instrument cluster, while the two map modes show navigation information. Pure mode, on the other hand, is minimalist as it only displays “essential driving information such as speed, traffic signs and navigation” using an arrow.
The digital instrument is flanked by two small, touch-controlled areas which provide easy access to commonly used vehicle settings. The left side focuses on the lighting units, while the right side is dedicated to settings for the suspension and traction control system.
Behind the instrument cluster is one of two different steering wheels. The base unit can be equipped with colored inserts as part of an accent package or customers can opt for the available GT sports steering wheel. The latter has a “distinctive design with visible screw heads and features a typical Porsche round mode switch which can be used to select the various driving modes.”
To the right is a central 10.9-inch infotainment display which is integrated into a glass band to create a “black-panel look.” It features voice control technology – which responds to “Hey Porsche” – as well as apps such as navigation, telephone, media, comfort and Porsche Connect.

Below the infotainment system is a ramp-like center console with two rectangular air vents and an 8.4-inch touchscreen with haptic feedback. Besides providing easy access to climate control settings and the heated / ventilated front seats, the screen has handwriting recognition technology which allows users to easily enter street addresses for the navigation system.
If that wasn’t enough screens, the optional four-zone automatic climate control system comes with a fifth screen that measures 5.9-inches. It’s installed in the rear passenger compartment and features haptic feedback.
Speaking of options, customers will be able to extensively customize the interior. Besides so-called “classic leather,” buyers can order “sustainably tanned Club Leather” dubbed OLEA. It uses olive leaves in the tanning process and features a “special cloud print.”
To appease animal rights activists, Porsche will also offer a leather-free interior which uses a so-called “Race-Tex” material. It’s described as a high-quality microfiber which is partially made out of recycled polyester fibers.
Speaking of recycling, the floor covering uses a recycled fiber called Econyl. It’s made from recycled fishing nets – among other things.
The Taycan can also be equipped with exclusive interior colors including Atacama Beige, Blackberry, Black-Lime Beige and Meranti Brown. The aforementioned interior accent package contrasts these colors with black matte, dark silver or neodyme accents. Last but not least, customers can order wood, carbon fiber, aluminum or fabric trim for the doors and center console.
