Mark Hamill shares screen test with Harrison Ford for first Star Wars movie: ‘Neither 1 of us had read the script at this point, only this 1 scene’
Mark Hamill shared a rare treasure to Twitter on Sunday.
The actor was seen in his first screen test for Star Wars, which became a blockbuster movie in 1977 spawning several sequels. He was working alongside Harrison Ford and it was the first time they have ever met.
But the clip is awkward as the two actors had not much to go on; George Lucas had not shared the script with the unknown actors and they had only one scene to go on.

They made it: Both aced the audition and the film, which came out in 1977, was a massive hit
Hamill caption the clip, ‘My screen-test for @starwars w/ Harrison on the 1st day I ever met him.
‘Neither 1 of us had read the script at this point, only this 1 scene.
‘I asked George what kind of movie it was-“Let’s just do it, we’ll talk about that later” We never did talk about it later-we just did it.’

George said not much: ‘I asked George what kind of movie it was-“Let’s just do it, we’ll talk about that later” We never did talk about it later-we just did it’
The screen test was successful, needless to say. Mark landed the role of Luke Skywalker and Harrison became Han Solo.
Together the actors had great chemistry.
Mark was the naive farmer gung-ho on becoming a pilot. Harrison was the hardened smuggler who had street smarts.
They worked together on the first Star Wars then two more in under a decade. The actors came together again for the 2015 film The Force Awakens directed by JJ Abrams. The events took place 30 years after The Last Jedi.
The last Skywalker saga will hit theaters in December.
