The 2020 Chevrolet Corvette Stingray is here and the crew over at Donut Media recently had the opportunity to spend some time with the long-awaited, mid-engined supercar from the ‘States.
The C8 Corvette featured in this video is painted blue and outfitted with the available Z51 Performance Package. We think it looks very good but we’re not entirely convinced that blue is the best color for the supercar. Nonetheless, it is pretty cool to see the new ‘Vette on video and in such great detail. As you probably know by now, the new Corvette is powered by a naturally-aspirated 6.2-liter V8 engine pumping out 495 hp and 470 lb-ft (637 Nm) of torque with the available performance exhaust. All new Corvette models are fitted as standard (and exclusively) with a dual-clutch eight-speed automatic transmission sending power to the rear wheels. Chevrolet says the new Stingray will accelerate to 60 mph (96 km/h) in less than three seconds.
This clip from Donut Media also takes a deep dive into the interior of the new Corvette which looks and feels much more premium than any other generation before it. There is a squared-off two-spoke steering wheel, a fully-digital cluster, a touchscreen infotainment system, and the intriguing spine which houses the air conditioning controls and separates the driver and passenger. We’re yet to get behind the wheel of the new Corvette but the cabin certainly looks on par with much more expensive mid-engined supercars.
