Like mother, like daughter.

Blue Ivy Carter, the seven-year-old daughter of Beyonce and Jay-Z, is celebrating a career first this week, as the song in which she is featured, Brown Skin Girl from her mother’s new album The Lion King: The Gift, has debuted on the Billboard Top 100 chart.

The song, which features Blue Ivy’s vocals at both the beginning and end, charted at position No. 76 for the week of August 3.

Brown Skin Girl lists Blue Ivy as a co-writer as well, and she is joined on the track by Beyonce herself, SAINt JHN and Wizkid.

While this is the first time Beyonce’s eldest daughter is credited as a songwriter, it’s not her debut as a vocalist on her mother’s work.

When she was still nothing but a toddler, her laughs can be beard on the track Blue off Beyonce’s self-titled fifth studio album, released in December of 2013 when Blue was almost two.

Blue Ivy also makes a cameo toward the end of Daddy Lessons off her mother’s next album Lemonade, and she briefly appears in the music video for Formation off the same record.

As if that weren’t enough for the little one, Blue can also be heard on several of her dad Jay-Z’s tracks, and at the end of The Carters’ song Boss, where she sends a shout-out message to her baby twin siblings.

This is, however, Blue Ivy’s debut on Billboard’s charts as a songwriter.

The Lion King: The Gift album is a compilation project produced and curated by Beyonce using the Disney remake as inspiration.

The Lion King remake itself is also in the process of making history, as it this week already joined the growing list of 2019 film releases to cross the $1B line in global gross.
