Apollo Jackson appeared on Australia's Got Talent on Sunday, keen to finally see his career as a magician take off. 

But the 26-year-old revealed that he's been struggling since appearing on Sophie Monk's season of The Bachelorette in 2017. 

The former reality star said he was so broke his phone had been cut off and he has moved back home with his parents.

Speaking on the show, he said: 'I've been trying to become a full time magician for 12 years, and there's been so many set backs. 

'After The Bachelorette work really dried up super quickly. I've had to do whatever I can to pay the bills.  Security, landscaping, telemarketing, hospitality.'

Choking back tears, the young magician admitted he had hit rock bottom.

He said: 'There are times it gets really hard and you feel like giving up. My phone's cut off, I'm living at home, I'm super broke.'

His dream he said was 'to be known as professional magician' and no longer have his passion seen as a gimmick. 

For his act, Apollo was suspended upside down in a straitjacket above a bed of flaming spikes, for an escape stunt.

As medical professionals stood by, he admitted beforehand: 'I am willing to risk my life for this'. 

The magician had to flick a switch in a lock box hanging from the ceiling to free himself - after being doused in fuel and set on fire.

His arm set alight and he was left bleeding after the stunt, however was delighted when he voted though to the next round by the judges.
